Build Data Platforms the Cloud-Native Way

by Rasmus Steiniche at neurospace

Having good data requires a modern data platform with many of the capabilities that software engineers apply when developing cloud native applications..

We will explore how to build modern data platforms using cloud-native tools and tools from LF Data & AI.

We'll take a close look at the key ideas and deep dive on how it works with a live demo.

Lets talk data contract, data tests, and asset-based orchestration!

Registry Revolution: From Images to Everything

by Kim Sondrup at Kamstrup

From Docker to OCI, registries have become versatile, handling more than just images. We'll explore the practical aspects of attestation, signing, and multi-architecture image construction, and see how these versatile registries support diverse artifacts, including Helm charts, Flux configurations, and enable Kubernetes' new OCI read-only volumes. Learn about tagging terminology and the OCI v1.1 specification. Discover the registry's true potential.

Speaker bio:
Kim Sondrup is a Kubernetes wrangler and passionate Cloud Native advocate who thrives on taming IT chaos with a firm belief that tech should speak human, because developers are, after all, people too. Based in Denmark, he’s a regular at Cloud Native Aalborg and KCD Denmark, where he fuels the open-source and GitOps fire. Starting as a developer, Kim stumbled into Puppet in 2016, sparking a polite interest in Yaml but a genuine love for Infrastructure as Code and what would later be dubbed GitOps. His curiosity led him to conquer binary artifact management, greenfielding Artifactory for a large enterprise, and diving deep into Kubernetes and Cloud Native waters. Now a recognized Golden Kubestronaut, Kim brings certifications, hands-on grit, and a knack for mentoring to the Cloud Native community.
